Jesus cross water fountain was the time the Jews celebrated the Feasts of Tabernacles. On the eighth day of the celebration, there was no water poured out in symbolism and commemoration of their forefathers time of pilgrimage in the dessert. Jesus stood up in the midst of the people and proclaimed Himself as the Fountain of Living Water. At the cross, that water burst forth as the Holy Spirit to live in us.
The water is shut up in secrecy. So is the heart of a believer when it is renewed by grace. The water is sacred. The Christian’s heart is a spring for Jesus, sacred and marked for Him. The water provides security. How safe and sure is the inner life of the believer.
